The projections for the proposed rate increase were included in the proposed FY 2023-25 budget. Recommended Action: 1) Adopt a resolution establishing new rates for the collection, recycling, and disposal of refuse.
AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE AGREEMENT WITH SOUTHERN COUNTIES OIL COMPANY (SC FUELS) FOR UNLEADED AND DIESEL FUEL FOR CITY VEHICLES Purpose: Authorize the Public Works Department to extend the existing agreement with SC Fuels to provide unleaded and diesel fuel to the City for fleet use through June 30, 2025. Associated costs estimated at $500,000 per year will be included in the proposed FY 2023-25 budget. Recommended Action: 1) Approve Amendment No. 2 to the agreement with SC Fuels to extend the agreement term through June 30, 2025; 2) Authorize the City Manager and City Attorney to make any necessary, non-monetary changes to the amendment; 3) Authorize the City Manager and City Clerk to execute the amendment; and, 4) Dispense with competitive bidding pursuant to Municipal Code Section 3.28.080 (H) as it is in the best interest of the City to extend the existing contract for lower overall fuel costs and spare the expense of a competitive bidding process.
ADOPT THE 2022 ANNUAL PROGRESS REPORT (APR) ON THE STATUS AND PROGRESS IN IMPLEMENTING THE BUENA PARK GENERAL PLAN Purpose: State law requires that the City prepare an APR on the yearly status of the City’s progress in implementing its General Plan. This report is in addition to the annual report required for reporting on the City’s implementation of its Housing Element. There is no budget impact as a result of this action. Recommended Action: 1) Adopt the 2022 General Plan Annual Progress Report (APR) on the status and progress in implementing the Buena Park General Plan; 2) Authorize the Community and Economic Development Department to transmit the report to the State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) and the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR), as required by state law; and, 3) Authorize the Community and Economic Development Department to make any changes to the report in response to comments received from HCD or OPR.
